To be a relational sommelier

Really nice Hang with Alton Sun last night.
It’s a different kinda pod/video cast.

Cynthia joined us and that’s always a good/great thing for me.

My takeaway from last night was a very clear example, to me, of what not only a “lack of vocabulary/skill-sets” looks like but also something else that I’ve been trying really hard to wrap words around.

First, the “lack of vocabulary/skill-sets”.
Cynthia comes in and I’m like, “Holy shit. Dragon furnace is lit and hot.”

Later on, I ask Alton what he sees with Cynthia.
He says something like, “She’s glowing.”
“From where?”, says I.
“From her face holes.”, says he.
sigh.

I ask Michaela what she sees.

“She’s glowing.”
“From where?”
“Her yoni.”
sigh.

And I see the glowing of a dragon blast furnace, lower belly, upper second.

We are all looking at exactly the same thing.

We are all drinking from the same bottle of wine.

We all have different vocabularies, tasting histories, skill sets.

From my POV, there is nothing mystical or energetic that we can actually point to.
It’s a bunch of pixels on a screen that we ascribe meaning to.
There is no TRUTH, for us, about what is going on with Cynthia.

And now, we’re going to pretend that there is something real going on over there with Cynthia.
Alton tastes the tannins.
Michaela tastes the tannins and flavors.
I’m tasting tannins, flavors, and minerals.

How does the wine react to the different experiences of tasting it?
Go look at the video and make your own assessment.

From a Dojo POV, we can all become relational sommeliers.
